Description

This took almost a month to finish, and I'm still not entirely happy with some aspects. Right: Rendered in Vue, with the gull and the arm exported from Poser. The gull is AgentSmith's Digital I Designs Seagull, the sleeve and ruffled cuff are Daz3d's Pirate for M3 with the Privateer extension. Both compasses are free downloads from Turbosquid. Map textures are from the Historical Map & Chart Project. The cabin mesh is by me. Lots of post-work in Photoshop, textures from all over the place.

It's a nice render. The shadows cast by the light on the interior may be a little strong. You would probably see the windowframes darker in comparison with the strong reflection of light from the sea. If it's lamp or candlelight it would produce a softer flickering glow that would blur the edges of shadows. That's my opinion as a painter, rather than as a 3D artist.
