Being despondent You and I know Isn't a crime It's just that fate has Us walking parallel lines Speak to me in riddles I'll answer in rhymes This was how things began This is how they will end I remember every word said Words we so carefully unhinged The back and forth exchange Phrases and idioms set free Drifting on the North wind All the colors and textures Still remain deep within me Tell me where you began Show me where I end As always, as a thousand Times from the long ago Twin icicles melt in the sun Droplets ripple - fill the pool There suffused and renewed Go forth - begin again
