To me it appears the one on the right is catching more details, is brighter, and crisper. Even the background shows more details on the wall. You used the same settings and everything? Not that I'd know that much about settings, not being much more then a point and shoot type of photo taker, LOL.

My Mom brought similar plates back from Singapore in the 50's Richard. Brings back memories. Excellent Sir! Steve :o)

I only see a little difference in light, but I don't see so well anymore

The plate of right-hand side is more luminous than the plate of left. Do the object being the same one and the identical flash, the camera of left give less light to the object on the left... can be an automatic check of contrasts?

Happy Friday, dear Richard. Gorgeous plates. The background (wall) on the right shot is lighter. I am hopeless at tests. I've been here for ages :-)))))) Hugs and kisses. Di.

Oooh gosh I forgot to do my homework last night. Thank goodness the test is a simple [a] or [b]. I have given it some thought and I think the answer is [b] Do I get a smiley face for that? Seriously, I like the right hand one as it is brighter, but then I am into bright colours. Both are lovely shots and the plate is a stunner.

The photo on the right is brighter and more sharply defined than the one on the left. Evidently, the flash and lens made the difference. Oh, and beautiful plates!

I am more attracted to the one on the right it seems to have captured more effects from lighting and the gold is more enhanced from that and it is a gorgeous plate to boot

The detail in the middle is a little crisper on the right plate than on the left plate. And the left one is a hair darker, but the color seems just a hair brighter on the right... don't know if it's the lighting or what. Bunny

Left does appear darker, and a bit out of focus. Makes me wonder if you took two shots with the same camera if there would still be a bit of a difference? I love the pattern!

I think the one on the right the smaller birds and stuff are a little clearer but you resized these so, maybe that makes a difference? Other than that, no they don't really look different. I tried to see if it had a washed out look but decided that since the plates were side by side and the flash seemed to bounce off the left side more that because of that it made the right look a little washed out. But that's because the shaded part of the plate was next to the lighted part of the right plate. I hope I'm making sense. It looks like they're both good cameras. HUGS Maria

To me, the one on the right is marginally clearer, in particular the gold details are highlighted a little more :) ___ali x

Can I assume you were at a slight difference in distance from each plate? The one on the right has a black band below to make the difference up in the panel height as you offer them side by side for comparison. My thought is that both are quite acceptable photos. Great work.
