Description

Sometimes i whish myself back to the good old times when i played those simple but funny games like Space Invaders, Asteroids, Pacman and all the others. First I started with an Atari 2600 console, then a Commodore C64, Amiga 500, and Amiga 2000 followed. I still own this one and it still works :-). Nowadays I sometimes play these games on my PC using different Emulators... *sigh* Done with Vue6I. PW only on the flames and copyright text with PSE3. Comments are always welcome :-) --Enjoy this one--

Ah, the good old days... There's something about the older games that still has its charm. Sure, there's new games I like but I haven't been as impressed by all the advancements as the majority of people. All the fancy tricks in the book can't make up for poor gameplay, but good gameplay is the thing that makes a good game. I'd like to see more games that take a simpler route. Vertical/horizontal shooters can still be a lot of fun. Basic platforming can still be fun. You don't have to rely on stuff like unified shaders, HDR lighting, particle effects, normal mapping and all the other buzzwords in gaming. Sure, they're nice features to have, but if/when they become the main point of the game, I think it suffers. Just my 2 cents' worth.

The good old days.. yes, Atari 2600 was the thing to have back then. Kids today dont even KNOW how diff it is now...Nice flashback!

I loved Space Invaders, payed it many times while I should've been in school! But when I see games like Gears of war on XBox360, I really have no regrets!
