This image is a composite of this one: http://excalibur.renderosity.com/mod/gallery/index.php?image_id=1267093 and this one: http://excalibur.renderosity.com/mod/gallery/index.php?image_id=1238209 composited in GIMP with a circle-inverted photograph of the earth from space (so that the earth surrounds a black circle rather than the blackness of space surrounding a circular earth). I also added some lighting effects.
