Oooooh. Nice. It was about 45 here today, but I got about 5" of snow at my house on Thursday. This looks mighty inviting! Thanks!

As I type this, it's 22 degrees out, wind chill of 9. No idea how much snow's on the ground, but we've finally got a decent amount. It's been storming for the past few days, and I imagine that by now, it's more than knee deep in some places. Out back, there's a pile (from the rear parking lot) that's almost two stories high now and I've seen people sledding on it, and last night there was a couple that went cross country skiing in the streets, starting with a run down the snow pile. But this is really nothing compared to what we used to get, five, ten years ago. I miss the overnight hip deep snowfalls lasting up until even April and sometimes even May. We used to get temperatures well below zero - coldest I remember was a -50/-80 (wind chill) period. The extreme cold wasn't so much fun. I like having all the snow more than the cold. But for the last few years, we haven't really gotten winters like we used to; they've been more cold than anything else. Of course, we have gotten some decent snowfall, but it's a far cry from what it used to be like here. I like Summer too, but there's something about the thick blanket of white in winter that has its charm.
