Description


This is for Piet. When I first moved into my bushland home in 2001, a Tawny Frogmouth kept a vigil in the treefern outside my front door. This bird 'assessed' me over a period of months. Usually nocturnal and well camouflaged, these large birds are hard to see. They will often pretend to be dead sticks. However, as this picture reveals, not always. Anyway, I think I passed muster as I am still living in the ranges and loving it.

they look like what we call owls. I never seen one that would be out in daylight in the wild
