Description

An outing for my Sigma 70-300mm, i think that is the first time i have put it on the camera since last summer! This was taken from my window at 15 minute intervals, i'm not sure why the full eclipse shot seems to have a blue streak to it, maybe that is what the "once in a blue moon" thing is all about ;) The full eclipse shot looked good in my lcd screen and it was only when i put it on my laptop screen that i saw it came out blurred (but this was the best of the 6 or so shots i took). I think it might have been a good idea to up the ISO and use a shutter speed shorter than 10", it seems the moon moves faster than you think, because it wasnt my camera moving =S Anyway - thought i would post it up, just incase you all werent bored of the eclipse shots posted yesterday ;) enjoy! Rich

Rich, I am glad you posted this one. Even with a bit of fuzzy on the full eclipse shot, this is a super chronology of the eclipse. Thanks!

Hi mate, I agree about the speed of the moon/earth rotation. My 15 sec and 30 sec shots were unusable but I also managed to get some nice progressions. I like this one, I like the way it is presented. How can anyone get bored of such beauty? Rob :)

Beautiful presentation, even with the last one, you were lucky to be able to capture them all.

Well I think this is a great chronology captured and presented here for us less fortunate ones!! LOL (I only managed to get a black screen on the dozen or so attempts I tried!!!!) :-( This is great Rich - you did good, yet again! xx

Tried this with my 100-400L and the results were disappointing. Good job here, & yes you would need to track the moon for a long exposure shot - expensive business I'm told!
