To all of my mother's Renderosity friends:
It saddens me to no end to tell you that my mother, Mina, passed on May 31st, from endometrial cancer. She is survived by my father, Roger, and myself. I apologize for not letting you all know sooner, but her passing has left me with a broken heart and it is very hard to write this, even now. I don't suppose there will ever come a time that it will be easier.
I know how much she loved you all, how much it meant to her to have met such wonderful people, and how much it meant to her to create & share her art with you. I am leaving her work here for a while, as tribute to her, her beauty, her talent & her love.
Brightest Blessings to you all!
Heather
 Mina's daughter
Thanks to all for stopping by and hope you enjoy your visit.

What a haunting and captivating image. It highlights your synopsis perfectly. The story actually reminds me of an episode of StarTrek:TNG...I wonder if they 'borrowed' it. Anyway, wonderful work, as always, Mina. -M :^)

Very beautiful image, Mina. I know the story, but it's been eons. I do remember this bit of the plot, but will do my homework....again! you make me work so hard. I love Clarke's works and '2001' the book, if I understand, was written as the movie was being made, with Kubrick co-authoring with Clarke. This is the movie that turned me into a movie buff and made me nuts about film and film history and the magic of film. Did you also know (I'm trying to stump you now, hehe) that Clarke's theories about a celestial body's gravitational field would 'sling-shot' spaceships around said body and was proved in the U.S. Apollo moon missions? But you prolly knew all this, you know everything! ;o) Hugz, Scott
