Description
A sandstorm approaches the strategic listening post on Sedona 3. Such posts were popular along the border regions of the First Empire in the decades before the Zone Wars.

Was experimenting with some textures and one thing led to another. 1.53 minutes to render. No post.

Keep Experimenting my friend this is outstanding work How did you get the look and feel of sand dunes to come out this good. Also Love the shiny reflective surface of the tall black stone, and your terraining the small rocky hill in the background is so finly detailed it looks like you blended a realy picture on to the finished render. Wonderful atmosphere here Hats off to ya Please tell me more of the creative processed used

Completely exhausted by a walk which appeared to me without end, I distinguished with far, our reassuring spheres. Which was I the distance still to be traversed... will arrive there never? All seemed improbable to me, this violent wind, this muscular wear which generated cramps now, in a quite cumbersome behaviour. My directions seemed to weaken... with a few meters of me... a black rock shining sembalit to melt with the sun... will arrive there I finally at this so much coveted shelter... where in addition other then rested!

Great scene, good volumetric effect.

It took about 10 minutes to make. The sand dunes are terrains really flattened. The tall rock is a rock, while the smaller ones are terrains. The mountain in the background is one terrain copied and pasted over each other with different sizes. There are only three materials in this scene: chrome, wet rock, and a volumetric. All the ground, mountains, rocks, is the "wet rock" material, slightly modified for the rocks up close.

Damn!! I'm working on a piece at the moment that looks almost exactly like this!! :-) Looks great - you've captured the barren desert well and I always like a bit of story behind an image. Cool! Back to the drawing board for me...

It doesn't look like earth but more like anime. I like how you make sandstorm all over. Will there be any alien coming out of those balls? :)
