"We call him Wiley, 'cuz he's a wildboy, whatcha call feral. He were living like an animal in the woods when we found him. Had to trap him to get him back ta town. took a dozen of us to haul him in. After that, we seen a lot a wolves in the forest around town..... I figured Wiley was raised by 'em. we chased them off but I think they's still out there, watchin' over Wiley. We go no idea where he come from or who his kinfolk, human kin that is, could be. Thing about Wiley is he don't say nothing about his past. But he's smart. He's only been in school a year and is already at the third grade level. That Miss Barnhard took a liking to the boy, taught him extra. Still, Wiley's a little on the wild side. animals take to him quicklike, and when no one is looking, he'll vanish inta the woods for days on end....... " Doc Mesmer talking to Rev.
