Description

Let me explain the story behind this image, because - as with most of my pictures - there is one. At first, I was going to do the colour brown for comfort, since that's rather a nice emotion and I don't think there are enough nice emotions floating around. But then...well, I found a newspaper article from the day I was born, and it was all aged, and looking brownish. Later on that night, my mother and I were talking about getting older and wrinkles and things like that, and I was looking at her in the light of the TV screen. Brown and gold are in close relation, as are age and beauty to me. As I was sitting there and looking at my mother, there was something so youthful about her (she's naturally a very beautiful, youthful woman anyway) that I wanted to capture. Mind, this isn't a portrait of my mother, but...her expression is exact, which is what I wanted. She often talks about face lifts and things like that, merely in jest...but I almost am offended when she brings it up. I see things when she smiles...when her eyes crinkle up, it reminds me of all the times we've laughed and cried together. When the small, gentle lines appear around her mouth, it reminds me of all the inside jokes we've shared over the years. Whenever she complains about finding a grey hair, it reminds me of all the troubles we've gone through together, and survived. When she mumbles over her hands looking older, it reminds me of the motherly, soft hands that used to rub my head as a little girl...that used to hold my hand when I crossed the street. When I think of brown, I think of age. Not being old, just...aging. Growing. And when I think of age, I think of beauty. My mother is all things beautiful, and the subtle marks of wisdom I see on her remind me of life - hers, and mine. I mean...age isn't an emotion, but it's still a feeling. And that, my dear viewers, is what brought this image about. Here, once again, are the colours I've done so far: ---Blue: Fear ---Gold: Beauty ---Purple: Grief ---Green: Jealousy ---Red: Desire ---Grey: Worry I'm still taking requests until this coming weekend. So if anyone wants anything done, tell me now so it'll be ready in time. Thanks for viewing, comments welcome as always.

Summer, I think I like this one best. Why? It reminds me of my mother :). It was just her and me growing up together, so we had some very wonderful times together and learned alot together. I am so proud when people meet and talk to my mother and tell me .. 'I see where you get it from.' When I think about being alot like my mom, I can think of no one else I'd like to emulate. :) Thanks for this render, Summer, very beautiful! HERE'S TO OUR MOM'S!!! Wolfie
