Hey and welcome! My name is Brandy and I must tell you I'm obsessed with my camera. Whether its taking pictures of myself (as I often do...their terrible lol) or making my friends pose for me, I love using my camera. I have a Canon Rebel XT and I edit with Photoshop CS2.
I'm happily married (you may come across a picture or two of our wedding day in my gallery), and have been for three years.
I've been interested in photography ever since my freshman year of high school. I am currently a photo major in my 2nd semester of college. I've been using my Canon 35mm much more because of school, I sure do miss my Rebel. It's nice to go back and re-learn everything. Nothing is more "centering" than making a print in the dark room.
I've started studying color photography. I'm such a fan of black and white, I wasn't sure if I'd like color. This class has made me appreciate the colors nature gives us, and to realize that I can get emotion out of color and not just black and white. I hope to do well and do something with my education.
Thanks for stopping by, I hope you enjoy my work as much as I have.

somehow this fits the beginning of my day perfectly. the sky is overcast and bright, and birds are singing. not only does this greyscale earthenware with foliage match the mood of my day, a spot of tea would be absolutely perfect. more subjectively, i think this is beautifully peaceful work. the stark structure of the forms is balanced by the organic decoration and the haphazardly displaced lid. the strong value contrast catches the eye, and the slight texture contrast holds the eye with its subtlety. i think black and white was the best possible choice for this photograph, and i'm glad it's helped start my day.

I would have to agree with CobaltDream, wherein the black and white certainly contrast each-other in this image most appropriately--- The milk jug a pure and natural "white" colour.... I think dimension and texture are added to the idea of the photograph with the lid being tipped off of the sugar-holder..... a tiny detail that makes a world of difference. This photograph inspires me and gives me motivation to get through the day, just so that to unwind, I can sit down to a wonderful Earl Gray tea, with a shot of Grand Marnier and an orange slice...mmm.... The mood in this photograph is very peaceful, and most certainly warm and soothing to the heart... :)
