Description

thank you Juse for being concerned....This is for one of my very best friends for over 10 years now, and thanks for noticing my lack of art here at renderosity.. Everytime another good friend leaves this site in anger it hurts..and especially when they leave because of the stupidity of things being done at this site..Like when they hold your images hostage because you wanted to warn people of the contents...because only a Renderosity cencorship flag will do..and because the name community really doesnt apply here anymore..as this kind of ridiculous nitpicking is undermining what small sense of community there is left.. I think my comment on Mercytoos last post says it nicely..I think i said"Fucking is one of my very favorite things to do and the word Fuck is one of the most expressive words ever,so lets get the fuck out of here and stop buying shit in thier fucking store."Or something to that effect..This was said after alot of other folks expressed themselves in a like fashion.....and after looking at all the friends on my favorites list lost to such stupidity..i get sad because only a small handful still remain...Many have left without a word, some left screaming and kicking and some have come back under different names only to find its just not the same place it once was.I dont know what i want to do with my art or my time anymore when it concerns this place..Time will tell.in fact for the first time in 4 years i havent been making any art,or even feel like it..and i have gotten seriously into playing the Blues on my guitar.so for what its worth..I will miss you Mercytoo and all the others who have left because of the stupid rules being inforced here...and for those scared to speak up or have an opinion i feel sorry for you to..Lifes to short.. Juse, Hope to see you soon in the real world..

Oh, I'd love to hear you play blues guitar Bill, but please don't forget your art. You are well respected here and I am not afraid to speak out, if I think someone is treated unfairly. Your art has always been special and so beautifully and tastefully presented and please remember that there are many people who will miss your art if you were to leave altogether. I daresay, that some of the people who may have left, are still viewing the galleries, to see what their friends are up to and gaze at the excellence of their work, even though they don't participate in commenting. Let's have a 12 bar Jam in the key of B flat!.... After three!....One two three, two, two three, one two three, two, two three! lol Ok, I lied! how about a barndance my friend? lol Chin up Bill! Steve :o)

I have noticed Bill. Sad to tell you the truth that so many are losing that fun feeling and their muse for this place is running thin. What ever you decide to do Bill. You are always my friend and you and your family are always in my heart

That's not true Bill, I have noticed your absence on RO and I always attribute it to your dialup situation or being pissed off with Management!! I don't know why I take it personal, but when you have a friend telling you that they haven't noticed you, it hurts. As for Mercytoo, I can feel her anger and really I'm really thinking of leaving myself and going over to DA where I also have an account!! RO is banning people, changing rules to fit their own needs and desires and not really communicating with the people that actually their space to keep this site going. As for buying from the Marketplace, I am supporting my friends, not RO because without the merchants, RO would not have a marketplace. I hope one day they realize what they are doing before its too late. Continue to make your art through your music (yes music is art as well)!!

I hear you Bill. This place has really gone down the toliet. Everytime they say changes are coming, it just turns out to mean they want to screw the artists! With all respect to the merchants here, i think a 30-day boycott of the marketplace might be a great way to send a hint to the the ones who have run this place down! It seems money is the only thing that matters here anymore. I'll start right now! Untill i see some changes around here to bring this place back to where it was, i will not buy one more item from the marketplace!!! I'll go to Daz or RDNA. i'm sure they will enjoy the extra sales! Take care my Friend! I hope the best to you all!...Dave.

Yeah Bill we noticed you haven't posted. I have finally had enough of your complaining. That's all you do. You complain about your computer, it doesn't work, 'they' fucked it up. You complain about your dial-up, 'they' don't do it well.' You complain about our society having a warped view of sex and nudity in art. A section of it does, but that doesn't all of it does. You complain about renderosity and their rules and regulations. They won't let you post a nude aiko. Big deal. That is the rule here. They run the show, you don't. If you don't like it go to one of the other sites you already post at. it's simple dude, don't come here and complain, then go and post somewhere else and wonder why no one has commented on your work or wondered where you are. Better yet, start your own website. Then you can paste anything you damn please. You can't even take the time to post comments on others work. Yet you are the first to complain and as of yet have I seen you come up with a plausible solution or compromise. it's all or nothing with you and it has to be your way. I don't know why renderosity has changed things. I don't know why they have this aiko fetish, but they do. It's their site. They pay the bills. I have no problem with nudity. To mock the marketplace is to mock every artist that give us such wonderful things. I support my friends, seems more than you do. You are very selfish. You aren't the only one who lives on this planet Bill. You are one hell of an artist, with a great gift, unfortunately you have a lousy attitude. I am saying what a few think. Get real man. your a downer man, a real downer. where ever go I will never post another comment on your art.

I noticed too that you had not been posting art, nor had I seen you post a comment in any of the art I've recently uploaded so I didn't think you'd resoloved your internet issues. My bad. But you go ahead and blast away at those of us who've been loyal to your art even though out of your frustration have blasted us all before. This place is changing and people are leaving and it sucks bigtime , but what can we do eh, Bill???? It's not our site. It's theirs. So what would you have us all do, Bill????? Rendo "gives" space for people to display their art. Granted it's a smart move because it generates sales, but nonetheless, there's huge exposure here. And, there's a huge community of people here that are really wonderful. So, back to my question, Bill....what would you have us do, eh, Bill??? Boycott as Fastburn suggests? That, to quote you in an earlier post regarding the Aiko probs, would hurt the merchants, and they have little to do with the rules of posting art. Same with shopping elsewhere, which I do. I too hate seeing people leave. I too hate the rules that seem to cater to the prudish few, who probably don't spend near what I spend here. I hate that the rules aare not administered fairly. If it were my place, it would all be different. But it's not. So blast away Bill but please do know that many of us share your frustration.

I have been commenting less and less because i figure the image will get deleted or the artist will leave and take their gallery with them, so what's the point? I have a few favorite artists in my list that have 0 images due to them leaving or because rendo banned them. You always have a place at my site buddy!

It is a shame that Render is going this way and I do agree that I myself havent posted because I keep second guessing everything I post - its a real pain to walk on eggshells to post to a site instead of wanting to share everything - yes please vent get it all out since it is true - its disheartening and really drives the inspiration away from an artist :( Yes, Render makes the rules but that doesnt mean they are fair to the artists in question - absolute power corrupts absolutely - if certain ppl wouldnt just focus on the venting you've done and look at ALL your work, they would see that you've had good things happen too - maybe they need to post a few images themselves and get on the rollercoaster that is the approval process >_< Anyhow, Im not gonna vent here - but I have your back my friend - and fantastic image btw - I love the technique involved and the colors are amazing - keep posting, keep venting and keep the faith - its always darkest before the dawn.

I too took note of you absense. As others said, it could be from your dial up, computer issues, or personal conflicts with rendor. I'm personally trying to get some other things done so I haven't posted in sometime, but I watch the nonsense that is occurring at this site. I really don't even know if I will ever post nudity on this site again leaving such material to 7th Complex, RDNA, or rotica. As I've stated numberous times, I always find your material imspirational and followed by a how they hell did he do that. Your one of my favs that I look forward to what you will create next and I'd hate to see you leave. Hugs - Mike

I am afraid i agree with Peterlond..Why dont i tell you all about my new dog Lily or what a fantastic sunrise i watched this morning or how lucky we all are for being alive..if i saw someone complaining as much as i do i would turn and run..Thank you for the wake up call...and really i am not as unhappy as it looks..Just venting..but i will do it silently now..

As always, Stunning Artwork Bill! This is so sad to hear Bill! :( I for one have limited my posting, and buying here as well! Without a doubt I am tired of Renderosity's continued use of the term "COMMUNITY". We as artists here do build freindships, but very little of it is through Renderosity's actions or concerns, accept the ability to post (under continuing strict censorship), and the ebots they provide when our favorite artists post. In fact if it were not for the ebots, and my friends, I would not even be here! There are far better Forums & Gallery sites whose restrictions do not dampen the creative process. Peace be with you my Friend, wherever you find yourself!

Art wise this is amazing and feelings wise I can understand them. I just was wondering though I mean do they make rules up as they go along or is there rules stated in black and white according to internet law that they have to follow. I bet that would be interesting to look into. Anyway I do not know the ins and outs of why people leave and yes I wish they wouldn't as people do miss their friendship and talent and people do help each other out on here too. Just voicing an opinion and I do love your art. You are a very talented man :) Cathy xoxoxo

I agree whith the others Bill. I thought you had dial up problems. :( In other i agree whith your statement, but boykott the marketplace? You would hurt the merchants more than Rendero. Nver forgett. A lot of the Merchants here need this extra money.

I agree with you. I'm thinking about splitting too. This used to be the greatest community out there for this kind of art. The site, the people, everything. But now not so much. I got hasseled a couple of times too. The artist who comment on my renders are some of the best people I've found on the net. I have made a few good friends here. It is sad what is happening here. I have no idea where I will call home if and when I go from here. Your art is fantastic! Dan

Renderosity is going just the way America goes sinds the the republicans and Bush making the rules.I live in Holland and i'm glad that we have a more liberal kind of living here.I don't like it when other people want to say what i'm thinking and this goes aspecialy when it's about art 'gause art is an expression of the mind and is very personaly so i can understand that some people leaving RO begause of the tos.You one of my favorit artist primal so i will hate it to see you go,but just as i said i can understand it.

Bill, I don't think it's because people haven't noticed. But maybe, like me, they have been ill or busy and not here as much either. I used to be able to pop in and comment on every image from all my favs, however, lately I just haven't been up tp it. I do miss your work when you don't post, never think I don't. :)

Excellent, you look like you are in Pure Bliss. Well, silence isn't always golden, and if you don't let it out, it might stay inside you, and harm you. Personally, when someone vents, i don't mind listening, because, I just might agree with your feelings about the subject. Besides, what are friends for, if they don't listen to you? In fact, most of the time that you have a complaint, there is some validity to it. You have one of the great minds, that can create beautiful images, i wouldn't care if you had fucking terrets syndrome(i don't know how to spell it, but it makes you curse uncontrollably). A high percentage of the people, who view your art really, really like it, i for one LOVE It! Sending Vibrations of Peace, Love, Faith, Trust, and Joy, your Bro, Juse

Dear Bill, I'm a "Johnny Come Lately" it seems - and I don't really know what's going on because I can't see your notes and the image info block is missing. I've seen that happen every now and then on some images. No one seems to know why - some glitch in the code. If you do an "edit" and then just hit "save" again it will come back. However, from the comment which I can see, I can fill in a lot of the blanks. This is not a perfect place - we don't live in a perfect world. There are a lot of things I don't like. But - it is what I've got. I wouldn't leave here because Renderosity is about friendship - I've got a lot of friends here that matter more to me than whatever the flavor of the month rule is. Whether I'm posting my usual nonsense or whether I'm only posting pictures of Cherry Blossoms it doesn't matter to me. I'm not here to post my art - I'm here for friendship. I can (and do) post different things on my web site. And I get a lot more hits there than I do here. But this is the place I come to be with friends. As far as Dave's suggestion to boycott the Marketplace goes - it'll hurt the vendors more than it will hurt Renderosity. They need a steady check coming in more than Renderosity. Companies have a lot more staying power than individuals. And if you think about it - there are a lot of very good things about this site. There are no pop ups. There are no Viagra ads. They never sell our e-mails. There is no malware. I feel safe coming here. I'm not worried about picking up a virus or worse from this site. They've got rules - but so does every place. I find their rules a lot easier to live with than I do on other sites. During all the copyright stuff, I saw the "license" agreement with the DAZ site. If you post there you are giving them enormous reprint rights - Renderosity doesn't do that. The new message that appears under all our images is a clear statement from Renderosity about how they feel and how they respect our intellectual property rights. Renderosity's Terms Of Service are a few simple rules that would print out on maybe two sheets of paper - and could be summarized in a single paragraph. If you print out the entire Terms of Service from my web site you will find the most draconian and convoluted hundred pages of legalese that two of the best intellectual property lawyers in this country could create - because MY HEAD is in the noose there. I wrote some sizeable checks for all that legal expertise to cover my posterior as well as I possible could. And yet here at Renderosity - I have no liability for anything I do - and it doesn't cost me one cent to be here. There is no charge for freeloaders like me. And I'm a freeloader - I've never bought anything - here or elsewhere. I get a totally free ride on Renderosity's nickel and have the opportunity to make hundreds of friends all over the world. And I get exposure for my silly nonsense - Over a hundred thousand times people have viewed my stuff. And each view is a little billboard for me because not only do my images prominently feature my web site, Renderosity includes a link under each one of them directly to my web site! Yes, I have a reciprocal link from my site to Renderosity - but they have sent me 11 times as many visitors as I have sent them!!! No - Renderosity is not a perfect place - but it's a pretty good one!! Without it I'd have a lot less friends in this world - including my friend Bill Dahlhauser!!!!! Of course on the downside, without Renderosity, Bill would never have been exposed to MeredithLand Insanity and would probably still be sane!!!!!!! ;-) Super image - but then we have come to expect that from the master!!!!!!!! Love ya!!! Meredith Meredith Elaine Wilson - MeredithLand
