Description
Maiden Voyage of Antares
Here is a second image of Antares. It's just been completed at the martian ship yards on Phobos and it's about to launch on it's first flight.
note: I was so tempted to add lots of haze and fog, but had to restrain myself from doing that... after all, you can't have haze and fog on a tiny airless moon. :(
Bryce 6 and PSP 9.

Wow! That looks really good! I like this very much. But... if we talk about realism, we mustn't forget that in the vacuum the shadows are much more intense and sharper.

I really like this. Very good modeling and layout. True, can't have haze of fog, but can have dust! Excellent all around!

Excellent work, well done.

Modelling is excellent and thank you for not putting in fog. Not necessary and hides your work.

Looks impressive. The little cruiser on the landing pad gives a sense of scale to the ship and the whole installation.

super render!!

How right you are. The desire to infuse all images with haze or fog is sometimes hard to overcome. Nice image. Excellent modeling.

The soft shadows are mainly due to light from Mars, which in this instance happens to be coming from a rather "wide" source. ( but if that was sunlight it would cast extremely sharp shadows.) Shadow sharpness is directly proportional to the light source diameter, and I tried to match it as accurately as I could. Also, vacuum would have no effect on scattered ambient light which can bounce off any object.
