I have been learning more about max and decided to make a 3D replica of my still. I will put it up for download when I get the parts list, assembly instructions, and recepies written out.
Thank you for looking. Just thought everyone should know Gas is not the only fuel. When I was a teenager we used to use moonshine when we ran out of gas.

The biggest problem with ethonal and bio-diesel is that when it becomes the way of commerce, the oil companies are just going to use their vast resourses to buy up all the farm land, plant crops just for fuel production, and then food prices will also go up as well as the corporations having control over fuel (again), and governments will still subsidize them. but hey, anything to bring down the costs (and help the environ) is fine by me!

Hmmm... Sure there's no mods needed? I think that even with a carb you'd have to change the porting or float settings a little. On fuel injected it'd be a good idea to change the timing tables. (Usually not so easy unless you go afermarket or build a Megasquirt. I'm not sure if a Brazillian ECM would be a direct swap.) Both have something to do with different vapor points and stoichiometric ratios. If carbureted, might want to watch for vapor lock or pooling depending on temperature. It is possible to get by with no mechanical timing adjustments (which is why flex-fuel cars exist), but my understanding is that you lose a degree of efficiency with alcohol with gasoline based timing. If you're going straight grain, you might consider running higher compression than you'd dare with the dino-juice. Only other thing I'd keep an eye on are the gaskets and hoses. But yeah, you're right about running without any tuning. It'll work, just not at an optimum level. (Performance/efficiency drops somewhere above a 10% blend, which is at most pumps already.) If all you run is alcohol, it's worth a few minor mods, as you'll get a lot more out of it.
