What seems to be becoming a series must surely end here - About to make its final drop onto the landing strip, my orbiter returns to a small desert airbase where it will be stripped down and serviced in preparation for its next launch. The orbiter model is entirely my own though the design is based on the X-33/VentureStar concepts from Lockheed Martin. Its a shame they were canned, but they were ugly beasts - so I've used some artistic licence... The orbiter here is a different model from the last 2 images - I've been fiddling with it ever since I posted 'Apogee', and this is the result.
