Description

Welcome to my new home! I am finished with the beta version of my Roman Domus (house). It's a point and click sort of thing. I still have some work to do but you are welcome to come on in and look around. I wouldn't call it art but more of an illustration of an authentic Roman House like you might find in Rome or Pompeii. I started this project back in Sept 2006. The house is 98% modelled and rendered in Cinema 4. Most of the textures I had to make myself as I tried to get close to something authentic. Still plenty of work to be done. Pictured above is the part of the complex..the peristyle. Just go to my site and knock on the door. My servant will let you in. http://www.ancientvine.com Cheers

Nice pompeian garden ! I will see your site a few moment later, if you have updated it. I would have loved to live in a domus like this, as I wrote in my book...

very nice. modeling and lighting are great. only crit i have is the grass texture--- it needs some work. looks very large and patchy. maybe something like the Hair module if you have it or something as simple as a very fine bump map over a green texture. overall it is very well done... -chachi

Absolutely stunning! Your Roman work is easily my favorite of everything on this site. Thanks very very much. I can almost see Titus Pullo waiting for Cicero to finish gazing about so he can get to the business of assassinating the loose-lipped orator.

A fantastic render! The detailing is awesome, as is the attention to authenticity...even if creative license has been taken here and there, I'm quite sure that a native of ancient Pompeii (or any other area of Rome) would say..."Oh, Flavius has one of those..." Or something like that. In short, this is an awesome render among a gallery load of awesome renders!

I highly recommend people visit your website. The tour of the villa is excellent. It rook me a bit to understand that to 'knock/click' on the door will take you on that tour. Great job, here and definitely there. Love those peristiles and atria, often with a little fountain in there and always a peaceful and relaxing center of the up-scale Roman home, visible from every room. Wonderful work.
