Great pic. I agree with you. Not long ago I witnessed a pigeon being run over by a car in the street. First I saw this pigeon, then there was this car passing by, then a cracking sound, like light hard plastic breaking. Next thing I saw was the pigeon's head on its body. For a moment I thought it was alright, but it was dead, and somehow its head had landed on the remains. It was a grotesque sight, and I still can't bear to think of it (This is the first time I mention it to anybody). The car wasn't speeding, and it was partly the pigeon's fault. It even happened in a quiet street in the center of town. But still these things shouldn't happen. Animals - and people - get knocked over and killed by drunk or drugged drivers, who get a brief suspension of their driver's license and a small fine, after which they are free to do it over again. I once saw a French movie called "Que la bete meure!" ("May the Beast Die!") about a father who pursues the hit-and-run driver who killed his daughter. I think these things ought to be left to justice - but there should be justice.

Poor little ducky. I saw a hairy lump in the road yesterday, and was mourning over the loss of yet another animal, and when driving by it I saw it someone's wig... and not an animal at all. Well, that was a rare relief, though. I think this is an excellent image.
