Well, actually it's a remake..The Shure 55sh Most folks call this the Elvis microphone. I know one thing..they are pretty heavy!!

Ah, say again...? My father had one of these in his radio shack. It was the only thing in there that wasn't war surplus. He had bought it in the 40's. He called it a "crystal microphone". When I bought a dynamic and a capacitor microphone in 1978 the choice of 1500 ohm or 300 ohm impedance was far from the x-tal level of 20,000 ohms or so. Digital dismissed all this.
