Description
I'm walking along a nature trail very early in the morning just as the sea fog begins to lift. I'm half a mile in on this particular trail, with absolutely no other human being within sight or earshot when I come across this pond. On a path that comes right up to the water's edge, I spot these ~huge~ fellows and snap three shots. When the third one, the one in the water with just the eyes showing ... who is only fifteen feet away, btw!!!... looks right at me and starts swimming straight towards me, I immediately envision myself as a fat, juicy chicken leg and decide that there is no way in Hades that I'm going to finish this trail, and coming to the conclusion that discretion is the better part of valor, quickly high tail it back to the truck. It's one thing to see them on TV, in the zoo, or in a park, where there are very secure barriers between you and the alligator, but it's quite another thing to be in a huge 2200 acre wildlife reserve with nothing between you and your Maker but a few short tufts of grass and a few feet of muddy water! I can laugh now, but I'm sure my BP went plumb off the charts, hence the title of this image!
Thanks very kindly for stopping to have a look, and have a good weekend... Maria

I doubt if I would have stopped for the shots, but great that you did as these are well done when your pulse rate was so high. Mine would have been all shaky.

Oh, I'm sure they're friendly, Maria. Look, the one on top is smiling at you! LOL Good choice to get out of there so you can tell your great story and show us your evidence. :-)

Great shots, I just love Crocs, and you are so right, the heart races when you are up close and personal.
