Description
Taken at the Riverside Cemetery in Denver, Colorado. Lots of very ornate statuary in this old Denver Pioneer Graveyard.
"In 1876, founders of Denver's pioneer cemetery picked 77 acres of land near the northern edge of the city to be the site of a suitable burial ground. Distinguished citizens planned for Riverside to be a rural cemetery, surrounded by natural beauty and solitude, overlooking the meandering banks of the South Platte River.
Today, railroad tracks cross the gated entrance at 52nd and Brighton Boulevard, and Riverside is in the middle of an industrialized area. The sounds of freight trains rumbling over iron rails are counterpoint to the quiet within its fenced boundaries."

Very good capture Steve. I like the old cemetarys with their elegant stone, scriptures and messages, trees and flowers ... not like the new ones where there is only a flat stone in a perfectly mowed lawn lol

Lovely technique! I like how you have sepia on most areas, and have singled out some areas for more color. Makes for a great shot!
