Description

A new visit to my imaginary world of Nerbja. First time we were there was back in 2004 (Renderosity time).

"Nerbja is the 5th moon around the planet of Tanurs, and has been sparsely colonized, mostly by humans of earthly origin.
Conditions on this moon are very similar to those on Earth, and the lifeforms are not all that different either. But some of them are of course strange.
The mooh is interseting from both commercial and scientic viewpoints. Nerbja is the home of many interesting organisms. For the moment the inhabitants have specialized in harvesting the mushroom-like growths, that live all over the moon, in different species and varieties.
They produce substances that are mainly used in medicine, the most famous being the "age-blocker", which in many cases can prolong youth by 50 years, even up to 125 years in some sensitive individuals. The organisms can't be cultivated (or at least it hasn't been worked out how so far) because of intricate biological mechanisms - reminicent again of some funghi found on earth.
The majority of the moon is still more or less unexplored, and research groups continiously look for new intersting territories and lifeforms."

The first "visit to Nerbja", to the city of Sioubeom, can be viewed in these images:

"Babylon 5 Atmospheric shuttle" made by Alan "Hawk" Hart, hosted by Axeman-3D
- thanks a lot.
(This is NOT supposed to have ANYTHING to do with the Babylon 5 series, I just thought the ship was suitable for this scene. AND don't be too suprised if you see me use items related to Starwars, Startrek and Babylon 5 in the same scene *G*.)

Maybe this is not as "alien" as some of you would prefer, but I've actually tried to make something that looks familiar AND alien at the same time.
Hope you like, thanks for any comments etc. you may leave.
Have a nice day
- Lars

Very good! Indeed this achieves the result you wanted: it's familiar and alien at the same time. Which makes it believable.

I am a sucker for SciFi and this beats mine by a mile. This is really elaborate and beautifully alien. In fact, I would have probably left it with just the one more distant spacecraft, the second, nearer one is IMO a bit of a distraction from the gorgeous landscape work.
