Description

A little something between more complex projects. Only post-work : the chimney smoke (+ frame & signature of course). This time, I tried to do the DOF blur directly into Vue (2% blur - Hybrid 2.5 - 6 passes). Not easy to set and much longer to render

Very nice picture. - About the DOF: In most cases you'll do fine with the Photoshop approach - and it's much more flexible to work with, as you already know. For those not so familiar with the issue: If you don't get it right or don't like the result from a rendered Vue DOF the first time, then you have to make a new, very time-consuming render. Whereas in Photoshop (CS versions) the lensblur filter lets you experiment all over, and the results are showed in seconds. It's not perfect, but a real time saver. Postwork - so what. The Vue Hybrid 2.5 DOF is also postprocessing, using (I guess) the z-channel like you would in Photoshop. Excellent work here.
