Hello Shahlaa. Thanks for you nice comments :) No not really, I have never been in a school for art. Though once 25 years ago I went for a evening course 2 hours a week one winter season. Just for fun. LOL. I just allways have liked to draw and paint. :)

Really excellent, and I add that this simple background, which however has a good perspective, precisely because it is somewhat more crude than the vase, adds to the depth effect. You say that you did not follow serious art courses, this is even better (I was obliged to follow much to become a pro, and in no respects what I do is better), so you are very well gifted Helle! True that there are a lot of small mistakes (in the ellipse of the opening of the vase, in the curved perspective of the decoration), but really it is not a problem. There are much more mistakes in the works of Matisse and what one could say of Picasso, and everybody says "Wow it is art! Art is NOT like a photo you ignorant guy!" In my country there are hundreds of press illustrators that are renowned and draw in a very bad manner, nothing in common with you, and everybody says that they are genius. Let us think to Canne too. This is really enchanting that you share with us that marvelous kind of artwork, which is not so common at Renderosity!

OH! But I thank you so very much indeed, Elcet, for all your (in my eyes so wonderful words. I am very flattered and honored, because when the words come from a fantastic and pro artist as your self, I must believe, that I am not that bad a drawer. You made my day. Thats for sure. :))) Thank you so much. I thank you all for your wonderful feedback. It means so much to me. Actually I thought about uploading the vase once more, because I think I have made the background a little better. I was not quite satisfied with it. :) Have a lovely day.

Hello Helle or should I say Helle Hello ;) (only one letter difference;) Guess I will upload new images in April when I have more time, actually I am working on something and I need that to keep in balance, as you know I am still on the book illustration and I have to draw funny little heros and heroines LOL, quite funny but nobody is ever funny, really a challenge to draw and draw funny things. Now to you vase, I can see that you have enough feedback about the little errors so I will tell you something different. When I look at something beautiful it is often the case that it has ... little errors and while searching for a reason I always have to realize that exactly these little errors are the reason for their lovely appearance. So you see, the 'errors' arent errors at all, it has something to do with a personal note;) A very most wonderful vase, really! Or with a bit humor an original Helanker LOLOL ;) Happy days Helle ;)

Wow, I wish I'd noticed this one a long time ago, it's a superb drawaing. I studied history in college, and took as much archeology classes as I could fit in. This is a wonderful drawing that reminds me so much of the Greek vases we saw in so many archology findings. Nicely done!

lol, koosie was only a 21 months late! Well, I'm 33 months years late! I love the comments, martin & elcet left great comments, and they both make the point that 'imperfections' are what give us the artist's vision, their touch & personal feeling. You know how, with pottery, you look for the pieces that have the human touch, rather than the factory-made touch? It's the same with drawing. Yet really, this is a very detailed & accurate drawing. I don't know the original vase, but your work shows fidelity to the object. Of all the drawings I've seen of yours today, this is obviously the most detailed because of the design. And how you got such contrasts in dark darks & white surface (and several shades in between) is amazing to me, esp as you used mechanical pencil & one hardness. Your highlights along the rim are simple & eloquent, and your background is just enough to set the vase off. Really Helle, you do beautiful pencil work, and after seeing these drawings, I'll look at your pencil work with even more eagerness than before. You're wonderful at this--charming & gentle, and intense & detailed. A real gem in your gallery.
