Description

After studying this thing, I have more questions than answers! Anyone out there a marine biologist? It's probably pretty common around Kitty Hawk, but I've never seen one before. After ripping this chunk off, should I throw it back? The animal seed pod stalk!

Almost looks like some whale vertebrae. Whatever it is really cool, and your light situation on it turned out great.

I thought this was a spoof at first...like one of your magazine covers. I see that it really has tiny shells in it? Is this for real? I never knew this was how a snail procreated. I thought they laid mucos sacs in bunches on some rock or such. Very interesting and weird....like the start of a sci-fi horror flick. Jim...are you there? Jim? (hahaha)

We called them conch eggs as a child (I grew up on those beaches). But I never fathomed how a conch could produce such a huge object from within its shell in a matter of what: hours, weeks? Let me get that straight: I've only ever seen them about this length. Are you saying you pulled it from a Twenty METER single strand!?! Daaaamn! (Nice composition by the way)
