You use lighting as part of the mood, versus just using it to light the scene. :D That might sound funny, but in my eyes, the latter is what brings something special to the image. And this is beautifully done. Now see, even without reading your story, I could have told her NOT to stick her hand in that cauldron! Anytime you see a cauldron that big, there's magic at play. You only use the tiny ones for something pleasant, like a nice stew. :P
