Hi guys and girls! I am sure everybody knows about the canopic jars from egypt. These containers holds some organ of the dead person, the top represents the four son of Horus. Falcon head, (Qebehsenuef) guarded a lower intestines. Human head, (Imsety) guard of the liver. Baboon, (Hapy) guard of the lung. Jackal, (Duamutef) was guarded a stomac and a upper intestines. Egyp ppl belived these organ were very important to preserve for afterlife. You may ask what whith a heart? At the final ritual a person heart was weighted againts Maat the "truth of feather". If a person was true and worthy in living he or she past a test, if not the heart was trhown to the creature called Am-mit. seeya, have a nice sunday / monday

Interesting information of these jars. Looks like some one toppled that jar left laying down and stole its inner soul. Beautiful studio art work. Excellent. Aloha

Tunde! I feel so out of it! I not only never heard of the canopic jars, I never even heard of the four sons of Horus!!! In any event, terrific lighting, detail and POV in this elegant capture, T! Wow, keeper of the organs! Back to the history books for me!
