Description
This is an image that I have never been quite sure about. While it does have many of the elements that make for a good shot, something is either missing or not right. Perhaps someone sees what I am missing.

I like the shot... I think what's missing (IMHO) is some of the intricate details are lost in the darkness... Doesn't change the fact that its a terrific, moody shot, though! Nice work!

I love this shot. I think its utterly fantastic. So moody and wonderful. And i cant find anything technically wrong with it either....but i do know what you mean about thinking it misses something. And personally i think its the square crop that reduces the impact it should have on the viewer. But like i said...its gorgeous....although that frame aint exactly doing it for me. #:oP Have a wonderful day!

It is a great place you have discovered and tried to capture its essence, and I will agree with you there is something that just does not feel right. It lies not in the tewchnical craftsmanship of the postwork, rather in the composition, as it is too balanced and the vanishing point is right in the center. Though we may differ and others with you finding or that of mine, it is important as an artist to question ones work, for it is how we learn and grow as an artist. Thank you for sharing. egmont

I call this place "The Magic Forest". I have shot there for years and every time I go there something reveals itself that never did before. I always have my equipment but don't always display to avoid being redundant.
