Description

There I am, yesterday, browsing through the gallery here on RR when I happen to glance out of the window and see the most amazing misty sunrise. Do I grab my camera and try to catch it or do I spend another 10 minutes looking at your amazing images? No contest, the camera wins every time, lol. Although most of the images didn't turn out too well (too much noise) I'm quite pleased with this one. Only postwork was to tweak the colour balance a little, unsharp mask, and then I boosted the colours a lot but I thought it looked a bit cheesy so then I desaturated it quite a bit. I think the soft colours add just the right mood. lol Thanks for taking a peek, have a wonderful day. :) -Andy-

This would make a wonderful framed photograph to go on the wall... I just absolutely LOVE the colours in here and the feel of solitary with the tree. Wonderful photograph, Andy! :)

Great shot - and having such a scenery in front of you is a treat! That tree offers itself for a four seasons shooting (if alive and kicking).

i agree the shot colours have worked very well, i like the title and the fact that the birds are flying out of frame to add to the content.

Solitude is for the tree, not apparently for the bird, LOL. Concerning your disappointment for misty sunrises here, I find several reasons: i— if people use program automatic (most do), ISO sensitivity is choiced by the camera and a too high setting results with excessive noise (i.e. grain) especially on older cameras. ii— few people decently use Photoshop as you do, even older versions such as the excellent Photoshop 6.0 and 7. iii— contrast may be excessive in that kind of subject, so that sensors cannot correctly record highlights, the solution is HDR, but it is complex to use and normally imply the use of a tripod to get superimposable picts, only advanced users do. iv— I have good reasons to beleive that you are ONLY browsing in the Photo section, which is a pity, if you browsed in the Terragen or in the Vue section for example you would certainly notice expert sunrises because the average Terragen and Vue level is higher than the one in the Photo section. This said you have done a marvelous image, that deserves the highest honors. Have a nice Sunday my friend!
