I had a long discussion in 1969 about the relative strengths of the 14.5 HMG in anti-aircraft use on the turret of a T-54 and the 30mm DEFA as used on the Mirage III. This then led to the A-4 Skyhawk DEFA 30mm and A-10 GAU-8 30mm as well as the Chaingun 25mm on the AH-64. One point was made. American forces don't use RPG's. To really understand the balance of the gun one needs to look at the SBD and TBD attacks on ships in WW-II. I'll just mosey on now.
