We are looking East and the natural light is coming from the left or Northwest very low as if near the midnight sun. Only when my aunt and uncle were in Alaska could I relate directly. And even then they were West. Light is a very formal experience here. The samovar is heat. Words like delicate describe the textures better than detailed or elaborate. Yet there is a bigness in the dome that commands the window. The woman is not an Odalisque for she is standing. Waiting for a visitor to be seated in the chair and be served from the samovar which are highlighted in a symmetric setting.

LOL, well I knew this wasn't a photo .. they didn't have cameras back then! I love the way you framed this one. It's the perfect setting for the scene! I had to open full view too, there's just too much to look at, too many nooks and crannies to explore to not go full view! Awesome!!
