Description
For those that don't know the history of the band, Black Sabbath nearly didn't make it past the local bar-band scene. Before getting famous, Tony Iommi worked in a factory during the day and played in the band at night. While doing his 'day job' Tony had an accident and severed the tips of his two middle fingers off.
He was told that his career was over but Tony was determined to leave the S*%t hole that he grew up in (his words). So he fabricated replacement finger tips and re-learned how to play. The blow up of his right hand shows the prosthetics that he uses today when he plays.
The world came that close to never knowing the God-Father of Heavy Metal Guitar.

I've had the privilege of seeing Sabbath in concert with Dio at the helm, these pics bring back fond memories. Watching Tony Iommi play a solo was like seeing Jesus give his sermon on the mount (at least from a headbanger's perspective)!
