Description
These are bronzes of Dr. William Mayo and Mother Alfred Moes in a park across from the Gonda building in Rochester, Mn.
After a tornado destroyed a large part of Rochester, Mn, Mother Alfred Moes convinced Dr. William Mayo and his sons Charles and Will to staff a hospital if she could raise the money, build the hospital and provide sisters to be nurses. The sisters were teachers that were then trained to be nurses.
That was the beginning of the Mayo Clinic.
