Description

If I walk 200 yards from my home, I come to this gate. It is called a kissing gate!! I walk though, I am then on the clifftops and can stride out for hours toward Whitby. Shot taken in the warmth of Summertime. Again, bitter cold has returned to my beloved Bay today. Thick sea fret too. I cannot see a thing out of my window this evening. It is shots like this that remind me why I live here... Whilst I shiver in my home, with full heating switced on.. At the end of March!!! Come sunshine and warmth, please. I need you. Happy eventime to you all. Hugs Diane.

I'm afraid we'll have to wait a little more time before warm weather comes Diane ,-) . Excellent shot with high contrasts of this superbe wooden gate . . .

A perfect shot with great, natural framing, good lighting and interesting subject. And why called a kissing gate? Because a gentleman brought a lady home and they parted here so this was his last chance at a kiss before leaving? of does the gate swing shut on its owe as you pass through it and bang you in the butt, therefore, "kissing you off?" No matter...still a wonderful shot.

Another lovely capture of Yorkshire, which I think is glorious in all seasons although, I knwo what it's like to have that first sense of springtime snatched away - I had to travel to work in fog as thick as pea soup this morning - visibility was appauling at best!! Great shot, beautifully presented. xx

Never heard of a Kissing Gate until now.... Kissing under Mistletoe yes...but a gate tee hee guess it can happen and what a wonderful place to kiss it is... The scenery is just breathtaking sis...The sky itself is just beauitul...so moody and mystical The trees and the different greens just add to the ambience of this image sis... An unusual gate and it conjures up all sorts of things. I'm sorry your weather has turned bad again. Not much fun to be cold even with the heaters on. A lovely shot and great that you can go for long walks there.
