Description

I made over 50 images in bryce in the past two months. I still makeing them; I just did not upload them; just a few. Most is dark images. Guess it was a dark time in my life. My wife wish to go to this chuch on Sunday I never been to. I know the pastor. I just never went to his church. So other man was talking on six things of a true freind that is closer than a brother. It in the Bible. After church we cut across the front of the church to go and eat something for they was haveing a family day that day and I came face to face with the man that was talking that day. Something rose up in me and my eyes must have look wild to him for they feel wild to me. He just wish to shake my hand and tell me welcome. I wanted to tell him I a artist and all. But then I calm down. I know it was something dark in me and I did not like it. - Where there is pride there will be a fall. - Pride rose up in me and I know that is wrong. If I got nothing else that Sunday the Lord did show me that was in me. Forgive me if I acted wrong in any way. - thanks for every thing comments and looking too

Super Awesome Dad, I think this one is definitely one of your best! I also think that it is a very precise representation of a dark soul.

Pride can be a good thing or can be an instrument for others to condem. Artists are different than most people. U have to express yourself visualy, good, bad, uguly, the good lord made each of us for this reason. Enough preaching, great image, be proud today.

I am wrestling with that very same issue in my life now. Good pride = gladness over a loved one doing well. Bad pride = lifting yourself up to boost your self image or trying to influence someone else into raising self up. Sometimes it is a very fine line between the two types of pride. Your image is a remarkable likeness of what the bad pride does to a person.

I think we all have a dark side Jock. The most important part is not letting it take over our good side! And then again, I don't see anything wrong with you being proud of your God-given talent! (: Excellent pic!

Excellent work, Jocko, if the angry had to come out it is always best it is done in your art. Mine sometimes comes out in my poems. That really what art is all about - letting out ones inner self, etc. Bravo, great job!!

Not only is this a very cool image, but you have done a fantastic job of putting it together with a true personal story..That my friend..is what makes TRUE art..

What 'vis151' said is true. Artists ARE different then other people. They see things differently, they think differently. God made them different, gave them different eyes to see with, made their souls more intense. We just have to learn how to balance that dark side and not let it take over us. We struggle with pride .. our works are like our children, so we were are proud of what we produce, just like we are proud of our children. Your work is awesome Jocko .. and you have a right to be proud of it and proud of the talent given you to make these wonderful images, as long as that pride doesn't hurt someone or become who you are. Often art is our therapy, how we work through the things in our life. How we balance that dark side. Okay .. I'll shut up now, grins. this is an awesome piece .. just awesome.

Great balance in this creation, Jocko! Nice, dark and foreboding. But I don't identify at all with the basis of your Jekyll and Hyde catharsis.

hi jock good u hold in your anger that sunday, this doesnt look like an ant looks more like posers baby skeleton, has it something to do with abortion? Yesterday I heard a woman say abortion is ok as it not about babys just a couple of cells. I was thinking at what level the human soul comes inside these cells? Otherwise you can asume the same logic to grown ups just cells only a little more diversified. amen. (to di "we are all equal parts.. darkness/light" this asumes there is a balance between good and bad, If you look at what people are doing to the earth and each other I rather see we have an natural preference for doing bad, symbolized by the apple story in the bible. I eat an apple a day, just to keep the doctor away but thats a whole diffrent story. Jocko dont be to harsh on yourself, next time go with your wife to that church again and just question the man about the things from his preaching that bother you.

I always say go with your heart and also be careful(somewhat where you step) to each is own and all that: I don't want to stir anyones beliefs but I say don't stir mine either: Wonderful colors and it's dark yes but some days we all have dark places to go and see: It's all in how we handle it:

Jocko, I want only choose the words of Rita (aka Three_grrr) "Your work is awesome Jocko .. and you have a right to be proud of it and proud of the talent given you to make these wonderful images, as long as that pride doesn't hurt someone or become who you are. Often art is our therapy, how we work through the things in our life. How we balance that dark side. Okay .. I'll shut up now, grins." We are always too sensitive on all the feelings of our heart. Our work is always an exorcism. You are a Jocko artist! Your work is admirable and does not have justifications other than that of Art...
