Description

I think I'm finally happy with the morph! WOO HOO!! Now, to work on the complete body texture, displacement maps, lashes, and all that other fun stuff. I wanted to thank everyone for all of the input during the past few posts. It really helps to look at things through other people's eyes, and you helped me make her even better than I had hoped! Credits: Victoria 4 (DAZ), Radiant Jaguar Hair (DAZ), Billy T's leather jacket for V4 (Renderosity Marketplace). In the last gallery post someone asked about the hair. The radiant jaguar hair has some pretty nice natural looking colors and flows fairly nice when posed. But as with most hair textures, they usually don't have highlights (so as not to conflict with your lighting). As a result, they tend to look a little flat. I just add highlights here and there with the Dodge tool, and then pick up colors from the hair and use a VERY fine 1 or 2-pixel brush to add stray hairs and individual highlights here and there, following the flow of the hair model. The key is to post the hair on a high resolution (ie: LOTS of pixels) image, so that you get your strokes hair thin. It ALSO helps to add various colors of highlights each in a separate layer, so that you can adjust the opacity as necessary. Then you can scale the entire image down and there you go. BTW, hair is NOT something that you want to attempt with a mouse, unless you have more courage than I do. Definitely need a pressure-sensitive stylus! Thanks again everyone. EDIT: Corrected the neck morph to remove the extra glare. There is still a bit of highlights there, but it's not quite as glaring.

Hi :) Very beautiful morph, unique and non-v4. You mentioned displacement maps - do you use P7 maybe? If so, can you tell me if it supports 16bit maps? Thanks!

Looks like her. Interesting to see the progress as you went along. More importantly, she doesn't look like she is derived from Vicky. Nice job all around. :)

Oh i definately notice the work, especially since my comment on the earlier image was about the necklace. Now it looks "real"......... whoa, very nice! Excellent reworking.

The shadows from the jacket, the top and the necklace against her chest look VERY nice. I think the D|S equivalent of magnets is D-Form, if you have that you might try giving the necklace a bit more downward pull for gravity. There is an odd bright area under her chin, where the neck joins, I expect that is just a quirk of D|S. Nice job postworking highlights into her hair (I'd do a very poor job of that myself).

Hi! I agree with pjz99, but, holy cow, you did an incredible morph on the face, not to forget the well matching texture. Believe me, I know how hard it could be to reach a certain likeness of someone in Victorias face. Look a my second character. In some perspective and certain lightning you see who it could be and in other definately not. I didnt see the title of your image and I directly knew who this is. B.t.w. Did you do some postwork on the hair or did you work on the texturemaps? Have you played a little bit in the material room to achieve highlights in the hair? To my opinion it might go because many of the hair sets are made for older Poser version an there may be a lot to manage in 5,6,or 7 Very good job. Looking forward to see more. Regards Jochen

Actually, this one I did with Poser. I was trying to see the kind of results I might be able to get with pwSurface and DAZ Studio for the last render, but being that I am so new to pwSurface I switched back to Poser. LOL The hair is fairly new, released with V4. But I have this thing for postworking hair. I enjoy it and find it very relaxing as I finish a project. It's sort of like my dessert! LOL Oh ... and as for the weird highlight under the chin, I forgot to dial in the neck morph and it wasn't matching up properly. OOOPS!!!

Indeed an incredibly good evolution from the 1st image. I like this a lot. Only one thing, but I'm not 100% sure: is it me or her right eye is very slightly more upward than the left eye? It's just a tiny tiny bit but it's visible on the distance between the iris and the skin below.

Excellent portrait of a lovely morphed character. You have captured her really well. Still have a couple of tiny criticisms: There is a little bit of poke through of the hair (near the bottom) into the jacket on her right, and then it re-emerges. The necklace is still a bit unreal - is it possible to use a reflective metal shader? The shadow beneath the right collar is uneven, yet the collar seems to be at the same distance from the skin - is this a depth-mapped shadow issue that could be fixed with bigger map size?
