Description

NORTH AMERICA (NGC 7000) + Gamma Cygni nebulae Nikon FM2 + Nikkor 180mm f/4 In parallel to a SC MEADE 8" telescope Manually guided (I took this shot in 1998) ONE STAR FOR EVERY GRAIN OF SAND But.... how many are the stars? In our Galaxy ,the so-called "Milky Way", they are at least 200 billions In the portion of Universe observed , galaxies like ours , are not less than 200 billions . Take a sand fist on the beach, how many sand grains you have in your hand? They're many! You could spend few days to count them. Well, there are more Stars in the Universe than grains of sand on all the beaches of the entire planet Earth.

Very nice job Proximo - excellent focus, great tracking and beautiful field of view. How long was this exposure? And what film (I assume it was E200 as with the Heart Nebula - as that's really the only film available with a good red response anymore). Thanks for sharing.
