Description

FOOLED YOU!! OK, ok... I know, I cheated. It's supposed to be a Raven. But, when I came upon this lone Robin sitting on a fence post all by itself in the fog, I started to say bits and pieces of the famous Edgar Allen Poe story, "The Raven", first published in 1945. So, after taking the photo, I was inspired to look up words and put a verse of the poem below. ************************************************************** Then this ebony bird beguiling my sad fancy into smiling, By the grave and stern decorum of the countenance it wore. "Though thy crest be shorn and shaven, thou," I said, "art sure no craven, Ghastly grim and ancient raven wandering from the Nightly shore- Tell me what thy lordly name is on the Night's Plutonian shore!" " Quoth the Raven, "Nevermore." ************************************************************** Happy April Fool's Day! Thanks for the visit - Jodie

Beautifully captured moody image....I sense that perhaps we are the ones who are fenced in...the robin is free to fly.
