Great color contrasts, POV and DOF in this scene! The brilliantly lit cotton bales sitting against the dark clouds and ground make the scene look surreal. I remember cotton being grown and picked down in the deep south in the USA! Hasn't anyone seen the old movie, SHOWBOAT, with Howard Keel and Kathryn Grayson?

I worked next to the port in Galveston and they have a huge cotton operation there. I loved to watch the bales being trucked to different docks and loaded on the ships. Bits and pieces of cotton went everywhere! Great shot.

Amazing sky and amazing bales of cotton. I have been educated today, I've never seen anything like this before. I never knew where my cotton shirts came from. Now I do. Excellent shot.

May i hazard a guess at this shot being influenced by mayda's work? ;) Anyway - it is fantastic, love the colours and perspective and the textures all over the place are great too! :) Oh and i've never seen a cotton bale before either, thanks for enlightening me :)
