Wow, only suggestion is an old photo grainy filter for Photoshop if you have one. Otherwise, nicely done.

That's very cool! A lot of things to like here: Inquisitive little rats on the left look great, nice way to fill that dark spot Really interesting blended look, sort of watercolor, sort of woodcut Cobblestones look great! They're so nicely imaged they actually make some parts of the background a little too bland though. A couple of small things: It would be great if the woman in the middleground showed a little more expression, not necessarily shock horror but something a little more intense; and Mr Poe's right pinky seems to be clipping through the cobblestones. Might also smooth the edge of the lamp post on the left side. Quirky and off-beat!

Very imaginative concept :) I would take a 2nd look at the middle 3 fingers of the left hand, the top joint seems to be missing.

I love the positioning of the cat very much. I am not sure about the plump drinker in the background - the position of his right arm looks a little strained. But an excellent image

I love the concept. Very creative and detailed work - all those hidden symbols like raven and black cat! :) I agree with zorares that adding delicate grain effect might be a good idea.

I can't really add much in terms of critique. The others have already said it. However, I think it's an excellent image and good camera angle. I LOVE the texture on the street, it may be the best I've seen to date and I would dearly love to know how you achieved it! ;) Also, the raven is an excellent addition and (obviously) meaningful. Perhaps more subtle though; is the picture supposed to be of Ligeia??? Fantastic lighting, too. Overall, excellent!

I agree with pjz99, also the head of the bird seems a bit big, not sure if its just the angle tho. Really great POV and details, looks very good in black & white as well.

Thanks for the great feedback! This was an image I did for the last rendo halloween contest. Missed a few details in the rush to get it in - note the electric lines at the top of the picture, and the rather sloppy chiminey cut-out. Cobble stones are a photograph, as is a lot of little detail and the buildings.. I actually like to work this way. I get a basic layout of the camera angle and composition in Poser, do a print - then I go out with my digital camera and take photos at a similar angle to match. Its fun and gets me outside - away from the computer! Picture in his hand is of Virginia Clem Poe - his wife who died. "And neither the angels in heaven above Nor the demons down under the sea Can ever dissever mu soul from the soul Of the beautiful Annabel Lee." - poe

ooops, thats "my soul" not "mu soul" and don't you just love that word "dissever"

Very dramatic! My only suggestion would be to try bumping up the contrast on the background so it's similar to that of the foreground. That would blend them together a bit better. {Note: I'm viewing this on a Mac which has different gamma from your computer if you're using a PC. That factor would directly affect this aspect of the way it looks on my screen.]

I LIKE! The raven is cool too. :) I agree with the grainy photo idea, if it's possible to do. All in all, an excellent and original render. :)

Wow, all of these diverse elements and methods...this is what art is all about! My one crit is that the background seems a little too faded, although I realize that you are trying to emphasize the foreground. A wonderful piece, overall!
