Description

The black cat seems to disappear quite regularly to the bottom of the garden when no-one is looking. She's not hunting - but she is catching up on the gossip. I hope you can see both gossips. I deliberately made the second one elusive. I did this for a monthly challenge but it didn't win. I wanted to give an idea that the branches of the trees and plants grew through the fence. The ivy was made with the Ivy Generator and I have deliberately made the image a little dark. The texture on the fence I made myself.

For me this image looks fantastic. Great shadows and lights. Lovely pose and props settings. I am really a poor beginner in Bryce and for me this is a excellent artwork.

Cool concept, and the ivy and flowered plant (rhodendron?) on the right look especially good and smooth. The only thing I would have suggested would be a bit of color or flash on the upper gossip to make it just a little easier for the viewer to pick her out. I know that's what you intended, I just spent several secconds reconciling the title with the image. The dimmer light and thin foliage works nicely, gives the image a late afternoon, hottest part of the summer feel.

This is a really nice scene! I agree with pjz99 on the upper gossip comment. The daisy-like flowers nd leaves, when viewed close up, appear a little "noisey", if you see what I mean. I'd expect them to be a bit smoother, like the other foliage (which is excellent). Lovely cat pose and good camera angle too. Nicely done!

i think its a funny idea ..but for one i did change the POV.. The birth is hardly seen..maybe that was intended as a seek and be suprised image But it is the main point of th eimage and is to close to the edge for my idea.

Cool - the foliage is especially impressive!! Thanx for the tip on "Ivy Generator" too - looks to be an interesting freebie! A lovely image - very touching!

What's wrong with the see-through fence? @__@ Is it supposed to be transparent? The cat's posture could be a little more fluid. It looks not quite life-like the way it is. The fence (if it uses a trans map) needs to have Edge set at zero to eliminate the see-though effect. One thing on the pose would be to set IK on the touching feet and grab the hip and move it up. That might help. I'd play with it to flex it up. The basic set-up is wonderful! A couple of tweaks and it'd be just perfect! Funny and original idea.

Good concept and wonderful setup of the plants. The plants look really great. But if you didn't tell me about the birds, I would probably missed them. IMHO, you should make them a bit more visible, maybe by clearing the background in that area. I agree with JOELGLAINE about the fence and cat pose. I also think that the picture would have a stronger impact with a bit more light. Maybe even better, some shadows of leaves from a nearby tree.

Again, not much to add above what has already been said. I like the image, and found the second gossip fairly easily. The cat is looking at her after all. :)

Great pic!!! Nice enviroment and great setting!!! Maybe you could use a brighter color for the cat, and get him more closer to the bird (Like a close-up). But its a superb pic!!!

Very cute image & concept. I gather there is a bird, although I cannot find it, the image is very dark on my monitor though.

If you look up to where the cat is looking you will see a small bird perched on the fence :)

this image succeeds at creating a feeling of peace with nature. i can hear the birds singing. plants and foliage are amazing. i love the quality of the light, but i think it could have been a bit brighter. the cat's pose is great, and while it could have been a tiny bit more realistic, i think it's very successful. the only thing that's problematic is the bird. i understand that you wanted it to be hidden, but to me it looks simply unfinished. it blends so well i can't see detail even when i zoom in and look right at it. since i can see individual pine needles, it looks as if detail is missing. that's my only criticism. it's a great image, and a sweet idea. and a far cry from the norm.

Beautiful nature in this image, but I'm afraid I had a hard time finding the second gossip as well. Without your detailed explanation I would not have known they were gossiping. Perhaps if the bird were moved down to the crossbar on the fence? (demonstrating that the cat is not hunting the bird) and both the bird and the cat faced the house? (as if they were talking about someone in that direction) it would break up the concept of cat hunts/eats bird. This would also bring both of your objects of interest more into focus.

This is a charming concept. The vegetation is lovely :) I just have a little trouble seeing the dark cat in detail against the dark fence.

Really cute! I hardly see the little bird too, but when you hear a bird singing outside, haven't you some hard time to find it too...? So it makes it more real.

This is a wonderful idea! I suspect my monitor shows things dark, because I can barely see the black cat and I can't see the other "gossip" I calibrated my monitor, because I have had this happen other times. Cute idea!

Cute! So very cute indeed! Lovely image! I won't bore you with a plethora of comments, most of which have already been said previously. I'll only add that you have a unique talent, and one that's well worth recognition and emulation. DO keep it coming! I've been so busy with my Posette remapping project, that I've gotten WAY behind in my comments, so please forgive me for not having commented earlier. David P. Hoadley
