Description
Another illustration created for the Stargate SG1/Atlantis official magazine. This is the Orion - a ship of the 'Ancients'.
This was all put together in Cinema - I modeled the overall shape from captured DVD screen grabs, and then further refined the body detail using reference and best guesses. A lot of the highest detail pieces were greeble pack parts (available at sci-fi 3D) I added to the body shape to save time towards the end of the commission.
The BG Planet is a an old matte painting I created for Star Wars Revelations using Cinema also.
Cheers :)

Yum yum, Very tasty ship design and mapping, I love your work very much. Great color and contrast and your planet is awesome. Never worked in Cinema 4D before, looks like a great program. DT

very nice, but there are some parts, that aren't correct. for example, you're missing the turrets on the front part, just before the bridge. a good reference for that part would have been "Inferno". There are a few screen grabs in HD of it avaiable on "www.thescifiworld.net". Overall, this is still stunning work. I couldn't finish my version of the ship, so I'm glad, you have a finished model of it.
