I thought it was a wire wheel in very bad condition and was going to comment about 1957 when it first was subject to longitudinal forces of over 1 g leading to it's abandonment in sports car use. But then fishing nets is older than that. Still, I saw some boats last year at a quay in Georgia and one had a fantail mark of "Wilmington, Del." The decay suggested it was out of the fleet. But it was sitting in the water at a historic park. This one looks still active.
