great rendering! Edwards AFB is named for the pilot of this aircraft that crashed. There were ads trying to promote civilian use of the 'wing. The project was cancelled the assembly line was stopped and the aircraft destroyed.

Just thought I would let you know that I work as a civilian graphic designer at Edwards AFB here in So. California. I work in the building that houses the history office, and so I see and have seen many, many, many old photos of this plane. Both the original propellor version and the jet version. There are some really great views and angles taken of this plane. The only crit: you put too many Joshua Trees in your view, LOL. They aren't as numerous out here at Edwards as you have portrayed. But overall, a good likeness of the YB-49...

outta sight. i hate to treat you like a cheesy guy with an electric keyboard at a ran-down bar but, do you take requests? i'd like to see a little Spruce Goose action of Howard Hughes fame. he was like you, could do anything. my stupid city sold it to Oregon. rat bastards. but you know, if you get bored or somethin. i only ask because you really bring this stuff to life.

Ahh I remember some concept drawings of this type of plane. We were all supposed be jet-setting in these "flying wings" at one point weren't we?
