Description

this was at pryo 07 Here you see what the local collage did name is UL. The art class put up this Devil Den kiles to fire some pottery they made. Last year they made the dragon which is in my gallery but they messed up and it burn up. They made the neck and mouth as the smoke stack but this year they made the smoke stack out of the bricks and coved them up so it did not burn up. live and learn. I finded out this imformation this year. I got some shots of them makeing it . May post them later as a collage. I just did not have time to make it. thanks for every thing. - My tread is in the photo forum for Sticky: Constructive Critique April 5th 2007 that pushinfaders put up. If you wish to Critique on the image please do so with truth that may help me do better. here too on this image. I know it hard at times I can not think of things at times too or do not have the heart to tell some one the objects do not look right in that pov. some thing like that; or the lighting is off. Lot of things make art and I no expert on it. - thanks for every thing

The Devil you say! A hot time in the old town tonight! So that's how it looks down below!!! But where are the pitchforks? In any event, my man, the colors, lighting and POV are cool!

Is it a tradition to make a different looking kiln every year? I wonder how many different shapes they use. We know they do a dragon 'n' a devil now thanks to your great pics! Thanks for the peek Jock! (:

Amazing creation by the art students, all the more so in that they use it to fire even more art and that you proceeded to a 3rd level of art via this nice photograph Jocko, excellent artistic capture!!!

Darlin', I always say it like I see it. :-) You got a style going on that is all you and I enjoy seeing through your eye. As for what I think? Doesn't really matter. This one I would have cropped a bit at the bottom for less straw and asked the guy with the beer to stand away or stand closer. But that's not what you had in your mind when you did this and so, you have made it your own and I like it!

is this a fireworks show? My oldest daughter and her husband go to different states once a year for some fireworks meeting. Great shot, Jocko!

At first I thought these guys were evil Dentists ! interesting capture, IMO try removing the flash (if possible) and lift it high and then it point down, to fake the fire/flame light direction, just a suggestion. Well done Jock ! ~Cheers~

Looks like a lot of effort has gone into building that kiln. Hope the pottery turned out ok. Fine shot!

The way things can go wrong include those we have seen before and can compensate for and those we have never seen before and catch us by surprise. Fire is like adultery. Sometimes it makes the pots firm and sometimes it destroys the village.
