Description

Ok i was working on an image all morning had completed one first render and was doing an ibl of same picture i posted, but needed to reboot computer been on for days windoz updates and other things requiered a reboot. so i saved the scene and it was done i rebooted . then went to reopen saved br6 file. get instant crash!! filed out crsh report. error on axion.dll so i,m peeved again!! so enjoy this 1/2 done wreck i sure am! saveing in bryce is like haveing unprotected sex. but the rate of aids in bryce is far far far higher then the real world! and no i,m not putting this f-up in merchants credits. good going daz another fantastic save..... but i still must say blade runner spinner by poppa per readme

Bryce is ok at best. I would upgrade to Maya or Cinema 4d personally. Much more trust worthy. (But I dig the image, it conveys your frustration and anger). -chachi

just a tip, why dont you use incremental saves on your scenes? I usually save just before I do something major, Ie. move lots of objects, render etc. - eg. scene 1.1 scene 1.2 scene 1.3 that way if you crash, you can go back to the last save and hopefully not lost too much. This has helped me "LOTS" of times !!

it was not a crash!!!!!! it did save all 199 gigs it just crashed trying to open what it saved!!! see i lost a perfect scene with proper texture lights and obj,s moved for pov. this was just a quick render to see what needed moveing resizeing etc. the the f-up saved files that crashes bryce. so saveing crashes on trying to open. not while makeing scene!!!

Best of luck trying to recover. I've only had 2 crashes with B6 and that was when trying to open a B5 file that B5 couldn't render. So far no crashes or abnormal saving/opening with B6.1 for me.

Sounds familiar to me:) My advice is you need to relax now... take a break, go on holiday or something, don't touch Bryce at least for a week:D Nice scene anyway!

Yep, I think there is a love/hate relationship with Bryce. I love it because I find it easy to use, but hate the IBL because it takes so damn long to render, and hate the crashes when it just can't cope with too many objects imported from D|S, so I hear your frustrations:) Questor's tip is a good one though, one I learned some time ago:)
