Description
This was a portrait I did for an RPG character I created a while back on a private server... the game has ended, but I still like the character and I still like this pic. :D
Here's the 'Profile' I wrote up at the time.
Moerdoya was born to a ruling family in a land far from here. With more time than purpose on his hands, be indulged an interest in magic--not caring much for labels like 'dark' or 'light', 'good' or 'evil'. Let others make those distinctions if they wished, he was only interested in the Art.
Trouble began when the local population began to rebel at the zombified chickens and sheep they discovered in their pens some mornings. But these were mere fodder for practice... unimportant. He would learn from it, improve on it, create new wonders with it. The art was everything, if only they could see. Death and life were a game, and there were always new players.
Until... the art took him to a place where he could no longer ignore the outraged cries of the people. Disowned by his family and cast out from his land, he survived by learning to cause death with his hands as well as his mind.
On his journeys he met many who taught him more about life than the tutors he had despised had ever done. He quickly lost his pride and most of his arrogance and befriended monk and beggar, thief and scholar alike as he moved from place to place. Each taught him their view of the world, and he began to see the larger picture by adding them all together.
Over the decades, some things became less important to him: having been once 'noble' he cares little for what passes for nobility most of the time. His personal loyalty is fierce, but he gives it to who he chooses, not those who simply expect or demand it.
Moerdoya has lived a long life, and wishes to live longer... he will do what he needs to do to survive. And to ensure the survival of those he casts his lot with ... until he moves on again.
Regarding the picture, the one remaining vestige of Moerdoya's birth is a fondness for castles and throne-like chairs... ;)

Skulls? A cloak? A scythe? Did he bump off the Reaper? Great "laid back" pose. I see a kink in his side. I suppose it's because that chair doesn't offer the best in back support. His head reminds me of someone's avatar, just can't remember whose...and I'll resist the impulse to ask what hair you used. (Come to think of it, I DO know someone who defeated death and the grave.) Hallelujah! Disciple
