Description

I was very honoured to have this little Kenyan girl named after me. We met her father a long time ago in Kenya and kept in contact. When he got married he always said he would name his first born after me if it was a girl or after my son (Christopher) if it was a boy. As you can see it was a girl!! I took this on a subsequent trip to Kenya. Isn't she adorable!! I have another photo of her which I will post another time. Hope you are all enjoying your Easter!

The thumbnail jumped right out at me, I had to come and see the large photo! This is an amazing shot. Her expression and pose are priceless. Your title also caught me because I am my aunt's namesake, and ever since I was little she would tell everyone proudly, "This is my little namesake!" It meant a lot to her, and it made me feel special, too. Your namesake is very beautiful, this is a great capture. :)

FOR JOE. Thanks for your comments. I used a really narrow depth of field for this because of the very poor lighting and really focused on the eyes which, I hope you will agree, are perfectly in focus. Also, the fact that it is scanned in from quite an old b&w negative does not help matters!! I always take critique on board, so thanks. Eileen.

Original: WOW! What a story behind this beauty and your name! And what were you doing in Kenya! :P Nice shot dear, its a bit out of focus tho.. But still can be turned in a 100% dreamy shot/portrait! Love the smile on your little model's face.. And the composition is amazing! Choice of the black and white tones made a big difference tho! Of course to the better. Thank you and have a nice day Eileen! JOE Edited: Thank you for the reply Eileen, I didn't know that it was scanned tho.. Never been mentioned, and regarding the eyes part, the more focus might be on the eyes. But it its always nice to be sharp as a razor sigh! Now the film cameras won't be that sharp as our newer ones. And regarding the Critiques, that is what Vera were talking about. NICEEEEEEEE! And thank you for the feed back dear, hope that my comment didn't make you sad or angry of me tho, I know you didn't righ! tt2.gif JOE
