Description

At first glance, I thought they were a small pile of leaves on the step at the side gate of our church, this morning, but on closer examination I discovered their real nature. I managed to get very close with my old digital, and have cropped and reduced the origianl. They had moved, or been moved, perhaps a matter of a foot, over the next 90 minutes, into some shelter.

excellent shot! It's been hard to find frogs and toads around here lately.

Good to see the Easter tradition of fertility being upheld. And we definitely need more frogs. Good capture.

Great shot, don't you just love it, nature, I have a couple of lily beetles in the same sort of position. Do you suspect somebody of moving them? After all its not the sort of thing that should be seen on the church steps. lol. Great image thanks for sharing.

I don't know about them having been moved, but I doubt it. A neighbouring garden, about 20'/6m higher, with a low wall, has a pond, as I found out, from conversation with one of the parishoners. Since there are about a dozen people in the flats, in this old big house, no one really looks after the garden. Perhaps the frogs decided to move to better lodgings. Considering the number of magpies that have moved the ravens, pigeons and squirrels off the trees in that neighbouring garden perhaps they had another reason to move. Regards, John.
